Pacific Sky Supply, Inc., Turns 50!

In 2004, Pacific Sky Supply, Inc., celebrates its 50th anniversary. And we have a lot to celebrate.

We’ve come a long way from our founding in 1954 by William Smith, Thomas Lockett and William Bloodgood. The three co-founders shared a cramped 800-square-foot facility in Burbank.

Half a century ago, parts for Pratt and Whitney reciprocating engines and vacuum pumps made up the primary products we marketed worldwide. Our existence, in fact, depended on the U.S. War Assets Administration, the government agency in charge of dispersing World War II surplus parts. Surplus was the only product we had to offer!

Some of our noteworthy clients included Qantas Airways, Western Airlines, British Airways and Flying Tiger Freight Lines.

Around 1969, Pacific Sky Supply experienced a downturn in business due to the popularity of the new turboprop and jet engines. By 1970, Smith was the sole owner of the company, as Lockett and Bloodgood chose to pursue other career opportunities.

A year later, William Smith’s son, Thomas, joined the business. The father-son partnership clicked, helping Pacific Sky Supply enter the booming aircraft turboprop market. Today, we’re still serving that customer base.

Pacific Sky Supply moved to its current location in Sun Valley in the late 1980s, branching out into manufacturing.

During the last 15 years, we’ve focused our energies on crafting precision aircraft components. Housed in a spacious 50,000-square-foot facility, with a knowledgeable and dedicated staff of 50 employees, Pacific Sky Supply today incorporates the very latest in manufacturing technologies and processes.

Looking toward our next 50 years of operation, Pacific Sky Supply, Inc., remains committed to one steadfast goal — providing our clients with cutting-edge technical support and products, while preserving old-fashioned business integrity and respect.

New Compressor Vane Manufacturing Cell In Operation
Pacific Sky Supply Inc., the largest producer of FAA-PMA replacement parts for the Rolls Royce T56/501 engine is pleased to announce the start-up of our new manufacturing cell for Compressor Vane manufacturing. The cell will produce new FAA-PMA Compressor Vane assemblies and work with our FAA repair station for the overhaul of Vane assemblies

Pacific Sky Supply offers the NiCad and IVD coated versions of the Vane assemblies.

Pacific Sky Supply produces many other FAA-PMA components for the T56/501 engine and 54H60 propeller.

Planet Gear Bearing Inventory Expanded

Pacific Sky Supply Inc is pleased to announce expansion of bearing inventory for the Rolls Royce T56/501 engine. Recent additions to our bearing inventory include new PMA Planet Gear Bearings and Main RG Bearings.

Pacific Sky Supply’s part number 23055550P is a Planet Gear that incorporates TDC (thin dense chrome) coating on the journel and gear raceways for improved corrosion resistance.
